Wednesday - A SPECIAL PRAYER MEETING

“An Evening Long to be Remembered”

The night was Wednesday and the country was in a “high”, celebrating our football victory over Bahrain.  Everyone had reached fever pitch but more was yet to come. The mood of victory infiltrated into the car park and before we knew it, everyone, already seated, began to form a procession to the beat of our Choir’s music.   It was so tempting to get up and praise!

Now, I’ll tell you my story ………………………

I immediately regained my sense of belonging as I was greeted so lovingly by everyone.   Although I tried to be inconspicuous in my wheelchair, my ‘chauffeur” Alan was determined to get me in the crowd.  And was I happy!!  Hugs and kisses were flying like mad.

But may I say that before and during the start of the meeting, I kept humming the hymn “Make us one, Lord”.  From a distance my Barbados family spotted me and found their way to greet us with our Trini flag.  And so it continued with all whom I had served with during the early years.  Such spontaneity could have only come from a God who loves us beyond boundaries.

As the wheelchair was approaching Susan Dore, she hailed Alan to stop so she could take a picture.  My self-consciousness had gone completely as I felt levitated with joy.

My deep gratitude goes out to my spiritual leaders, Rhonda and Rose, my ever-caring Sisters and Brothers and all who make my journey light.  God is a Good God!   He brought me out of the darkness and showered me with His Love, so that I could serve His people in a minute way.  What an exciting entry into a new life!  Praise and glory go out to the Gentle Spirit who moves so silently.  Thank you, my Living Water family and thank you Alan for being my chauffeur.   (Rosalie Pereira)
