"Come
join in de river that flows from His heart.
Give your life to de Saviour and do your part.
Let His kingdom, His new earth, His family
Be for all races a reality.
Let His peace and love be known universally."
(Andre Tanker)
With these words, Living Water Community began its boat ride down memory lane on Thursday November 17th 2005. It was a time to celebrate the heart of God which gave birth to the river of LWC. Gathered under the "tent" of our Frederick Street Centre, foundresses Rhonda Maingot and Rose Jackman began the "talk".
They told of a God who called them to give their lives to de Saviour and to "show the world how to love". Others spoke about the early days, the call to become a covenant community and of
God's mandate to do our part in bringing about the kingdom of justice and peace. Stories and photographs took us back to places and times both old and new.
As we journeyed
along the
river, we were reminded of God's
guidance and
providence over the last thirty years. The waters of this community have truly
brought life to those who were in its path. From beginning to end, we who
gathered raised our hearts and oars in thankful praise for the things He has
done. To God be the Glory.
