Our Brother Priests

Michael de Verteuil and Jason Gordon joined the Household community as ‘brothers’ and worked alongside Rose and Rhonda in building the Community and ministering to mostly youth and men.  It was a moment of pure joy and celebration when Rose, Rhonda and many Community members were present at the ordination of the very first Living Water Priest, Fr Michael de Verteuil at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.  Liturgies now took on a whole new dimension and brought us together as a Living Water family.

We were further blessed when Jason responded to the Lord and was also ordained.  Over the years as the Community developed and more and more became a community gathered around the table of the Lord, God raised up from our own, men who will serve the people and be ministers of His Eucharistic Presence.

When Robert Llanos was ordained he was incardinated into the Archdiocese and then in 1999 Christopher Lumsden was ordained, followed by Roger Paponette in December 2002 – all beautiful gifts to God’s people.

Of course, the Priests in our Community have always been available to the Diocese.  Both Fr Jason and Fr Mike have been lecturers at the Regional Seminary.  Fr Mike has also been the hospital Chaplain, the Chairperson of the Liturgical Commission and Chairman of the Board of St Dominic’s Home.  Fr Chris has taken on the management of Gran Couva Parish in central Trinidad where he journeys every weekend and often during the week to fulfill his ministry.  In January 2004, Fr Jason was appointed Parish Priest and Fr Roger as Assistant Parish Priest for the Church of the Holy Rosary  in downtown Port of Spain and St Martin de Porres Church in the parish of Gonzales, Belmont.

In April 1999, Fr Mike was appointed the new Rector of the Regional Seminary of St John Vianney and the Uganda Martyrs and, more recently, to Monsignor Michael de Verteuil.
