at Mass of Installation
First
Reading - Isaiah 61:1-3 The
spirit of the Lord has been given to me,
for the Lord has anointed me,.
He has sent me to bring good news to the poor,
to bind up hearts that are broken;
to proclaim liberty to captives,
freedom to those in prison;
to proclaim a year of favour from the Lord,
a day of vengeance for our God,
to comfort all those who mourn and to give them
for ashes a garland;
for mourning robe the oil of gladness,
for despondency, praise. The
Word of the Lord. Responsorial
Psalm R/
I will sing forever of your love, O Lord.
-
I have found
David my servant
and with my holy oil anointed him.
My hand shall always be with him
and my arm shall make him strong. R/
-
My truth and my love
shall be with him;
by my name his might shall be exalted.
He will say to me: 'You are my father,
my God, the rock who saves me.' R/

Reading
Letter of St Paul to the Ephesians 4:1-7, 11-13
I, prisoner in the
Lord, implore you to lead a life worthy of your vocation. Bear with
one another charitably, in complete selflessness, gentleness and patience.
Do all you can to preserve the unity of the Spirit by the peace that binds
you together. There is one Body, one Spirit, just as you were all
called into one and the same hope when you were called. There is one
Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God who is Father of all, over all,
through all and within all.
Each one of us,
however, has been given his own share of grace, given as Christ allotted
it. To some, his gift was that they should be apostles; to some, prophets;
to some evangelists; to some, pastors and teachers; so that the saints
together make a unity in the work of service, building up the body of
Christ. In this way we are all to come to unity in our faith and in our
knowledge of the Son of God, until we become, the perfect Man, fully
mature with the fullness of Christ himself.
The Word of the Lord.
Gospel - John
21:15-17
When Jesus had showed
himself to his disciples and had eaten with them, he said to Simon Peter,
'Simon son of John, do you love me more than these do?' He answered,
'Yes Lord, you know I love you.' Jesus said to him, 'Feed my
lambs.' A second time he said to him, 'Simon son of John, do you love
me?' He replied, 'Yes Lord, you know I love you.' Jesus said
to him, 'Look after my sheep.' Then he said to him a third
item, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' Peter was upset that he
asked him the third time, 'Do you love me?' and said, 'Lord, you
know everything; you know I love you.' Jesus said to him, 'Feed my
sheep.'
