SEDER MEAL

This term our Youth Ministries gathered and celebrated the Seder Meal at Nazareth House in San Fernando.  The south group hosted and they included a dramatisation of the song "Watch the Lamb" after which the meal was celebrated.  Here's some feedback from a few of those who participated.

"We felt emotional and powerful while acting as soldiers, but in a way we felt guilty playing the part of torturers who killed the man who saved our lives."  (Zoe & Kimberly)

"I played the role of Simon's son and I felt careless for losing the lamb, but I was touched in a special way by participating.  (Niko)

"We were the dancers and we experienced great emotions, which we had never felt before because we played a strong and important part in the interpretation of the song.  This whole experience brought us closer to God."  (Tenille, Raquel & Lisa)

"I played the role of Jesus and it was a memorable experience to actually act this role.  It made me and those looking on understand the importance and intensity of the Seder Meal.  The pain Jesus suffered seemed unbearable and it showed me how much He suffered for us.  It was cool to act as Jesus - it was a very different experience."  (Mark Harkoo)

"While we were painting the backdrops we had to actually visualise the pain and suffering that was experienced on that day.  And after doing that we had to bring that feeling to life by bringing together the colours that would express it.  Therefore, for me, by having to concentrate on how the scenes of that day were like, it put me right there in the middle of everything so I actually felt the sorrow of what took place.  (Thadizza Lazzari)

"The Seder meal has given me a better understanding of Jesus."  (Stephan MacLean)
