LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR PASTORAL OUTREACH

 

Target Group:

Lay Leaders involved in/wishing to become involved in Parish or Community outreach programmes/activities:

(a) Persons who have completed Year 1; and

(b) New applicants (course is on a cycle basis)

 

Aim  of Programme:

To ground Lay Leaders in the core disciplines of Pastoral Theology and Leadership Theory. 

 

Duration:

3 year Development Programme

Year 1 commences on Saturday, January 20, 2007 and consists of sixty (60) contact hours over the period of nine (9) Saturdays, ending July 2007. 

 

Time:

Classes will be held on Saturdays from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. 

 

Venue:

Living Water Community, 109 Frederick Street, Port of Spain. 

 

Methodology:

Lectures, group discussions, team projects and integration projects. Pre-reading will be given as necessary. 

 

Fees:

$900.00 per year payable in advance; or $300.00 per term payable at start of each term (includes lunch and handouts).

 

Certification:

Participants who fulfill all the requirements will receive a Certificate at the end of each academic year.

About the Institute

 

With the growing professionalism within industry and the challenges of cultural transformation facing Church, country and world, it is recognized that the level of pastoral planning, strategizing and use of resources must be elevated.  It is out of this recognition that the Living Water Community has established the Institute of Pastoral Leadership.

 

The aim and objective of the Institute is to provide on-going formation for Catholic Lay Leaders in the essentials of Pastoral Ministry and Leadership Practices.

 
The Faculty comprises recognized professionals in the various disciplines offered and includes:
