The 2011 Daniel J. Kane Religious Communication Award presented by The University of Dayton, Ohio has been awarded to the Living Water Community.  This award is made each year in recognition of an individual or organization that has exemplified an outstanding lifetime contribution to the communications ministry of the Catholic Church.

In its citation, Dr. Daniel Curran, President of the University wrote ‘The Living Water Community continues to offer outstanding leadership within the Church for demonstrating quality Catholic communications.  The breath and depth of the Community’s communication initiatives in Cable TV, Internet Radio, a robust Website and supporting the Caribbean School for Catholic Communications is outstanding.  The Community’s mission and vision is prophetic, addressing the needs of the poor, coordinating efforts for social justice, and transformation and raising consciousness of Caribbean peoples to the dignity of the human person.’

The Award was presented to Community Director, Rhonda Maingot during the opening dinner of the annual Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation’s Diocesan Partners Convocation in Dayton, Ohio on February 3, 2011.  The award includes a unique work of art suitably engraved, as well as a donation in the name of Living Water Community to a scholarship fund for students in Asia, Oceania and the Caribbean to participate in The Virtual Learning Community Faith Formation Courses.

Also attending the function were Msgr. Jason Gordon and Rosemary Scott of the Living Water Community.
