Patricia Edwards, a member of the Living Water Community for the last 20
years, has written her first book "A Pocketful of Posies" which was
published in December 2003.
Rhonda Maingot, Co-Foundress
of LWC, says in the "Foreword":
"Many people in the autumn of
their lives have a deep desire to retire and write their memoirs.
However, few accomplish such a feat, and few still, I think, have such and
interesting combination of memories at Pat Edwards, the author of this
lovely ltitle book - and who is yet to retire!
Here you meet Patricia, the little
angel with a mind of her own; the young French student excited with life and
all that it held out to her; the Royal Naval Officer with two fiancés at the
same time, who in the end marries a third; the young wife and mother
who travels from England to Trinidad, with many upheavals in between. You
meet the Pat who shakes hands and plays with aristocrats in England, and the
Pat who gives her life to the poor on the streets of Port to Spain. You
meet the Pat who enjoys a lavish banquet of wine and fine food, and the Pat
who can sit and share peas and rice with her friends on Duncan Street.
Sister Pat, as she is fondly known
on the streets of Port of Spain, is a remarkable lady with a remarkable life
story. Sit back and relax (Pat would say, with a glass of good wine),
and read and enjoy these memoirs as I did (but without the wine - sorry,
Pat!). You're in for a treat."
