"I have heard that you were a hard man reaping
where you have not sown and gathering where
you have not scattered."

I believe that we were all created with different talents, abilities, gifts, however we may wish to identify them.  I also believe that the one who created us knows all about us and also knows our potential, what we can become with time. Therefore the master used this knowledge of his recipients, hence the proportional sharing, everyone got varying amounts.  Those with the most talents used their abilities to multiply what was given to them and made the master quite happy, the one with the least amount decided to indulge in listening to negative reports, and he became the judge of this master’s character.  He made sure that his master did not benefit from his stewardship of the one talent, he was reprimanded by the master and his talent taken away.

Lord how often do we too listen to less than charitable reports of others, causing us not to lift a finger to assist them,  only to realize later on that we misjudged them.  Lord forgive us and help us to realize that our Master expects each of us to perform faithfully and responsibly at what ever task is entrusted to our care.  Amen
