"The greater you are, the
more you should behave humbly,
and then you will find favour with the Lord."
(Ecclesiasticus 3:18)
I have been able to observe many persons, who in the world’s eyes are great, either academically, financially or otherwise, and I have found them to be humble and unassuming, they will think nothing of sparing a moment to speak with the ordinary man, although this is how it should be at all times for everyone. The truly humble people seem to exude an aura of peace and calm, that gentle assurance, yet focussed concern, that gives the feeling that even in the midst of chaos all will be well.
Father, I pray that through the help of your Son who died for both the humble and the proud, that I will always choose to be gentle in carrying out my chores, no matter whom I serve, and that I will treat all persons with the love, respect and dignity they deserve. Amen.
