Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said:
‘Holy Father, I pray not only
for these, but for those also who through their words will believe in me.
May they all be one. Father, may they be one in us, as you are in me and
I am in you, so that the world may believe it was you who sent me’.
(Read John 17:20-26)
In this global village in which we live
today it is by no means unusual to number among one’s friends, people, not only
of different ethnic and cultural background, but also of a variety of beliefs
and non-beliefs.
Lord, there are so many people that I know and hold in high esteem who do not believe in you. They are genuine in their outlook and many of them are searching for the truth. Please enable me, by your grace, to love them with sincerity so that by fellowship and mutual respect and by my example, they may come to know and love you. AMEN
